Sirch verb

A people centric

search engine.

based in
New York

For 23 years, search has meant links.

When people search the web and get low quality results, they blame themselves, adjust the keywords, and search again. Two thirds of all search queries don't end with a click on one of the links. Google makes money (171B/year) each time that you search, which means that every additional query you do earns them more money.

Part of the reason for the deteriorating quality of Google is the lack of simple human feedback, which leaves Google's AI locked in a war with the entire SEO industry. Current link based search engines don't allow for the possibility of feedback since users exit the search experience when they select a result and go to consume content.

The trouble with today's search engines isn't just the interface and result quality though, that's just a symptom. To "organize the worlds information" is a mission statement for a filing cabinet. Organizing 10,440,934,343 results in 0.003 seconds is an incredible success if the goal is to organize information. Does that actually get people what they need though?

If you were writing a mission statement for a search engine, what would you write?

Questions:

How is Sirch different from Google?

Google's mission is to organize information. Our mission is to help people get stuff done. In order for Google to accomplish its mission, it indexes the web. In order for Sirch to accomplish its mission, it connects users with people; people that offer goods, services, or infomation.

What kind of people is Sirch for?

Sirch is built for everyone who uses the web. We don't have one particular kind of person who we are targeting. Initially, Sirch might be most useful to digital marketers who spend a lot of time in front of a desktop computer.

How much does Sirch cost?

Sirch will be free forever. However, we do believe that micro-payments are an important way to connect people with each other, and intend to launch a crypto-currency to support that in Q4 of 2022.

What's your approach towards privacy?

Respect. While other search engines by default track and save every single one of your interactions in the hopes that later they'll be able to monetize the data, we only save what you intentionally want to save - for example, by pinning a result. We aren't DDG though. If you don't want any of your information tracked, you should try it.
